I have had the pleasure of organising this year’s
40 Hour Famine for interested students in Years 6 -8. The 40 Hour Famine is
where you give up something for an amount of time to raise money for those in
need of food, water and shelter in Bangladesh. The event was run over the weekend
of the 22nd of May – the 24th of May.
This year the famine options were:
·
Eating Rice and Water only
·
Skipping modern comforts
(sleeping in a cardboard box)
·
Being Device Free
·
No Talking
There were 20 registered participants from
Tauriko School and at this point we have raised $650 – there are still more
booklets and sponsorship money to come in.
