NYLD

On Monday 23rd of May the Tall Poppies went to the National Young Leaders Day in Rotorua. The speakers were Billy Graham, Valentine Tauamiti, Brylee Mills, Marina Alefosio and Pio Terei.
One of our favourite topics was: “The easy thing to do isn’t always the right thing, and the right thing isn’t always easy.” Ripeka got to go up on stage as a fake guest speaker. We had to practice our welcome applause for Ripeka. Cumorah also got to go up and present a gift to Valentine Tauamiti. Here’s what a few Tall Poppies thought about NYLD:

Jenny: "The leaders talked about when they were kids, they were teaching us how to be a leader. Brylee Mills said that you don’t have to look good to be a leader. I LOVED IT!!!!"
Darragh: "I liked the idea of responsibility, the leaders talked to us so that we can grow up the right way. And some day we will be great leaders ourselves."
Olive: "I liked all the fun that came along with it all."
Jess: "I liked the speakers. They talked about being a leader when they were young and they told usvthat we can all become a leader".

NYLD inspired us. It was so much fun.
